This Ain't About You!

This Ain’t About You ! explores the fragile connections that exist between people, beyond the conventions of street photography. The city is no longer the subject of the images but simply the place where lives intersect. Streets, suburbs, and rural landscapes become stages for gestures, encounters, absences, and shared moments. The people remain identifiable, yet never fully defined. The work is not about individual stories but about the invisible relationships that bind us together.

At a time when we consume thousands of images every day, attention has become increasingly difficult to sustain. We are constantly encouraged to seek novelty while gradually losing the ability to truly look at what surrounds us. Familiarity turns into indifference. The ordinary becomes invisible.

This Ain’t About You is my response to that condition.

My work is also shaped by my experience as a social worker supporting people with profound multiple disabilities. Spending my days alongside people whose capacity for wonder remains untouched has fundamentally changed the way I experience the world. They remind me that meaning does not reside in constant stimulation, but in the ability to remain open to the simplest things. Photography has become my way of preserving that way of seeing.
