Old Dominion Backroads

Old Dominion Backroads was born over the course of six journeys across the state of Virginia, deep in rural America, quiet, often overlooked, and far from the spotlight. Far from the hustle of major cities, this project explores another side of the United States: the backroads, the small towns frozen in time, and landscapes shaped by slowness.

More contemplative than my usual street photography work, this project is an invitation to visual drifting, a personal journey through spaces where silence speaks as loudly as faces. Between reinvented childhood memories and sensitive discoveries, Old Dominion Backroads paints a fragmented yet sincere portrait of Deep America, caught between raw beauty and quiet melancholy.
